Jasmine Paolini defeated on her debut in the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai. The Italian number one was beaten in two sets by Filipina Alex Eala, who won by the scores of 6-1, 7-6 in an hour and a half of play over the Tuscan tennis player.

Jasmine played a first partial set well below her capabilities, and was dismissed 6-1 in 24′ of play, with as many as 13 free errors by the Tuscan. In the second set, L’Azzurra reacts and grows in level: down by a break, she manages to recover and take the set to the tie-break, where, however, she surrenders 7-5 after erasing four match balls.

Many errors from Jasmine Paolini, who won the title on these courts two years ago. The Tuscan tennis player, ranked seventh in the world, will be back in action at Indian Wells, scheduled for early March.

Richard Krajicek bluntly on Jannik Sinner
The'former Dutch tennis player talked about the strategy he would adopt against the'Azzurro and against Carlos Alcaraz if he still played
"I’m glad I’m not playing now, the guys at the top are really good", openly admitted the 1996 Wimbledon winner
"Sinner, Alcaraz, Djokovic…in our time I had to beat pretty much only Sampras"

"I think the level of tennis is much higher, the fitness level is higher, the career longevity is higher"

According to Krajick the'only hope to make it is "to break their rhythm"

"Maybe I would lose 10 times out of 10 against Alcaraz and Sinner, but I would always get in the court"
"From the backcourt you’ll never beat them. They’re simply so strong"
"You need a couple of really aggressive serve and volley players…"
"…to see if they would be able to put players of this level"

Alexandrea Eala will face in the round of 16 Romanian Cirstea, who beat Czech Noskova.
