Three and a half months after the last time (2-0 against Napoli last November 9), Bologna returned to win a league match at home: in the Monday night post-match that closes the 26th day of Serie A, in fact, the Felsinei won the three home points beating Udinese 1-0, at the end of a match decided by a penalty kick by Federico Bernardeschi close to the last quarter of an hour. For Bologna, it is the third consecutive success, after those achieved away against Torino in the league and Brann in the Europa League.

The start of the match saw the guests more enterprising but the actions that happened on the feet of Zaniolo at 6′ and 13′, interspersed with the chance for Piotrowski at 8′, did not create any particular headaches for Skorupski and his teammates. Bologna grew minute by minute: at 22′ Orsolini tried a left-footed shot in the box, but found the deflection in the corner, at 35′ Pobega engaged Okoye with a central shot, while between 38′ and 39′ Castro tried twice, first finding Okoye and then sending high. In the recovery Skorupski took a chance on Piotrowski’s corner, but no Juventus player was ready for the tap-in.

The second half turned on at 55′: Rowe kicked at a sure shot but Zemura saved on the line, preventing the red and blue advantage, three minutes later Udinese responded with a left-footed shot by Zemura, deflected into a corner. The turning point came around the half-hour mark: checking in the VAR Room for a contact between Karlstrom and Castro, referee Marcenaro awarded the penalty kick that Bernardeschi converted by displacing Okoye at 75′. A few minutes after 1-0, Bologna also came close to doubling the score, but Miranda was stopped by the Friulian goalkeeper.

And Udinese didn&#8217t miss the chances for the equalizer: at’82’ Gueye engaged Skorupski, at’84’ Zaniolo kicked on the outside of the net and at′ again the former Roma player found between himself and the equalizing goal the decisive deflection of Lucumì. Bologna suffered in the total five extra minutes, but at the triple whistle they could breathe a sigh of relief and take the three points.
