Giacomo Agostini once again crowns Marc Marquez and does so from the columns of the Gazzetta dello Sport. “He is a rider who wants to win at all costs – stressed the motorcycling legend – One day talking with him he told me that if he had to fight for fifth or sixth place he would retire. For Marquez, the minimum goal is the podium.”

9 Enea Bastianini (KTM): 2.5 million euros. The Italian rider is expected to move up a level after a season of acclimatization in KTM
8 Joan Mir (Honda): 3 million euros. The 2020 world champion must climb back up after four difficult years
7 Jack Miller (Yamaha): 3 million euros. The Australian is in his second year at Yamaha
6 Johann Zarco (Honda): 4 million euros. The French rider is the highest paid in Honda
5 Maverick Viñales (KTM): 4 million euros. The Spanish centaur is hunting for a revival after a difficult season
4 Jorge Martin (Aprilia): 4.2 million euros. After a nightmarish 2025, the 2024 champion hopes to turn his Aprilia experience around
3 Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati): 7 million euros. The two-time MotoGP world champion is hunting for redemption after a difficult 2025
2 Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha): 12 million euros. The 2021 world champion could be in his last year at Yamaha
The excluded: Pedro Acosta and Alex Marquez. Paradoxically, two of last season’s best riders are also among the lowest paid. Acosta has a salary of 1.5 million in KTM
Marc Marquez’s brother, Alex, draws less than a million euros from the Ducati Gresini team
1 Marc Marquez (Ducati): 17.2 million euros. The world champion’s base salary is 12 million euros, raised after last season’s victories

“He deserves to join me in the number of titles won in the premier class (with the title won in the last season Marquez rose to seven, behind Agostini who boasts eight trophies in the premier class, ed.) – added the former champion -. Records are made to be broken, but I am glad that no one has managed it yet. I just hope that if it happens they will invite me to the party they will organize”.

“I couldn”t make a ranking, the opponent I had the hardest time beating throughout my career was Mike Hailwood. Against so many champions I never raced, but in the group of the greatest cannot miss Mick Doohan, Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez”.

“Ducati? He won the title with that team, so it wouldn&#8217t make sense to leave it. I don’t know what offers he had or how the balance of power will change with the new regulations in 2027, but Marc has to trust Ducati. It allowed him to become world champion once again”

.

Marc Marquez’s next teammate should be his compatriot Pedro Acosta. “That would be two roosters in the same henhouse. Acosta has talent and is a fighter, while Marquez has more experience. For Ducati it would be great because one of the two would almost certainly win. The riders, on the other hand, would have an extra motivation: to beat their teammate” Agostini concluded.
