Bologna in the round of 16 thanks to Joao Mario: this time the Norwegians go down

Bologna won by a narrow margin at the Dall’Ara against Brann of Norway and qualified for the Europa League round of 16. After a 1-0 away win in the first leg, the Italian team repeated the result by bending the guests thanks to a goal at 57′ by Joao Mario, the Portuguese player’s first in Italy.

In the first half, Brann had two sharp chances at 6′ with Thorsteinsson (Skorupski good) and at 19′ with Sorensen (Freuler saves on the line also thanks to the post). However, the guests were left in 10 at 37′ for the direct red to Sorensen, author of a bad foul, and Bologna from there on had an easy time managing the game.

The team was then in the first half.

In the second half, the Emilians found the lead at 57′ thanks to Joao Mario: the former Juventus man scored his first goal in Italy with a counter-balanced finish.
