Just 10 days after the Olympic feat, Federica Brignone returns to the microphones, in Soldeu, to take stock of the situation before the World Cup weekend. Despite the smiles from the golds around her neck, Federica doesn&#8217t hide the difficulties and consequences related to the April injury: “I came out of the Olympics with several problems, together with the doctors we evaluated what was the best option for me. If they had told me I would compromise my leg, however, I would not be here. We decided to come to Soldeu, it is one of my favorite places”.

The skier from Valle d’Aosta reiterates how “prudence” remains the watchword: “Today I preferred not to compete in the time trial because of pain; after yesterday’s time trial I was not well and consequently I did not ski today. I will evaluate day by day continuously, all the more so after the Olympics: skiing should not be torture, it should be a pleasant and above all safe thing”.

For the skier, the memory of the Olympic feats is still a mixture of disbelief and pride for a performance that exceeded all expectations: “The emotions in Cortina were special, we were struggling to understand how it was possible to go so fast: I was there to give my best and I did not think it was so high..Now I am here to try to continue, if the pain will allow me to, although in the knowledge that it will be a problem that will be with me for the rest of my life”.
