Jürgen Klopp-Real Madrid, official statement arrives

In the past few hours, the Salzburger Nachrichten has spread a rumor that Red Bull would not stand in the way of Jürgen Klopp should he ask to be released in the summer. According to the Austrian newspaper&#8217s report, the company would not be very happy with the former Liverpool coach’s performance considering also the results that Leipzig (in Germany), New York (in the U.S.), Bragantino (in Brazil) and Salzburg (in Austria) are getting.

The’indiscretion has enlivened the fans especially of Real Madrid, and so many on social media have expressed their desire to see him on the Blancos bench next season in place of Alvaro Arbeloa. Klopp has long been one of Florentino Perez’s big dreams but it looks like it will remain so this time around.

Interviewed by Sky Sports, Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff was crystal clear about Jürgen Klopp’s future: “This is absolute nonsense and totally unfounded. On the contrary, we are extremely satisfied with the work of our Head of Global Soccer. He invests a lot, is in constant communication with our coaches and sports directors, and is sustainably developing our Red Bull soccer philosophy. We are convinced that he is the right person for this position. That is where we are focusing all our energy and attention”.

Real Madrid will therefore have to look elsewhere for Alvaro Arbeloa’s replacement, assuming Florentino Perez decides to change coach. In fact, it is not a foregone conclusion that the young Spanish coach will leave the Blancos’ bench in the summer: he has earned the president’s trust and has established a very good relationship with the team, a very important factor to remain steadfast at the helm of Real Madrid. Xabi Alonso, who was apparently exonerated precisely because of the poor feeling he established with the locker room, knows this well.

The’former Bayer Leverkusen coach brought to Real Madrid a very different working methodology than that adopted by his predecessor Carlo Ancelotti by introducing much stricter rules on and off the field. His approach was not liked by many, Vinicius first and foremost, and Xabi Alonso came to terms with it and was kicked out.
