Sweetest words, Jutta Leerdam moves fans

With the Winter Olympics over, Jutta Leerdam wanted to make a recap through a long message shared on her highly-followed Instagram profile: “The Olympics are over but before I even started this journey I had already won in life: I have extraordinary people beside me. Two years ago I decided to build my team. It was not an easy choice, but I felt it was the right one for me. I personally selected the best professionals, people who were competent but above all had the right energy and a big heart”.

“To my coach, Kosta Poltavets: thank you for following me every day, sharing my energy, work ethic and perfectionism. We really did it. Thanks also to my coaches and materials experts Thomas and Daniel, my teammates Kai and Ted, and my physiotherapist Aernout for everything you did. Thank you to my boyfriend for being there for me, for listening to me talk every day about this sport that you didn’t even know about before you met me. For letting me be myself and supporting me throughout this journey. You are a special man. I love you, Jake”.

The Dutch champion then thanked her parents: “Dad, you have been a key part of this journey from day one. You gave me the opportunity to channel all my energy and to have a goal to fight for. An outlet that led me to become an Olympic champion. We started together and I can’t believe we made it, Dad. Mom, you are the rock of our family. We admire you for your immense strength. We are so happy that you are still here with us celebrating life”.

Closing dedicated to your many fans scattered all over the world “To everyone who has followed my journey here and to my fans: thank you for your support and messages full of love. It means so much to me. I close the season on a high note. Becoming an Olympic champion completes the list of my dreams. I feel fully realized”.
