F1, Vasseur sheds light on Ferrari’s next steps to close the gap

Archived the Japanese GP, with Antonelli’s second consecutive masterpiece, Formula 1 stops for over a month. The reason? The cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian GPs due to the conflict in the Middle East. For all the teams, the opportunity to work on their single-seaters and resurface in Miami, the next round of the World Championship, with significant improvements.
Ferrari, for example, will arrive at the Miami GP with several updates. On the issue, Vasseur, team principal of the Prancing Horse stable, makes it clear: “Updates? We have to be clear on this aspect. There have been misunderstandings. Not only us, everyone will bring updates, there will be a new championship. It’s not just us we will be working on this month,” his words to Sky Sport.
Vasseur is convinced that as it is the beginning of a new era, there is still plenty of room for improvement for everyone: “We are just at the beginning, everyone is pushing to improve. We’ll see what happens. What will we work on? Performance comes from everything, we have to work on so many issues, on every aspect. We cannot focus on just one area. We have a lot of potential and we have to exploit it.”
Ferrari’s team principal also addressed the less-than-excellent performance of Hamilton, who finished sixth after a complicated race: “He complained a little more about the tires than Charles (Leclerc, ed.). When you lose a little bit of a second, everything becomes more difficult.” A quip also about yet another duel, to his of overtaking, between Hamilton and Leclerc, won by the latter: “Strong emotions? Yes, but that’s what we want. It’s the show we’re looking for. Beautiful, they are professionals. This is a beautiful Formula 1.”
