Federica Brignone announced to Verissimo the end of her relationship with Davide: “It’s over.” However, the 35-year-old champion has turned over a new leaf and today she is in love again: “I have a new story and I am very happy.” Her new partner is not part of the skiing world. When asked if she practices the sport, the double gold medalist at the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics responded with irony (“We are working on it”), but she did not fall into the trap set by the hostess, Silvia Toffanin, who would have liked to know the name of the lucky man.

The interview was aired on the episode of Verissimo on Sunday, April 5, in which Brignone retraced twelve simply incredible months: from the overall World Cup she won in 2025-along with the giant slalom and downhill-to the terrible injury that seemed to put an end to the Olympic dream, to the incredible return to the track and the Five Circles triumphs in her home Olympics, with the two golds in the giant slalom and Super-G.

A journey that the champion herself had already recounted with great emotion on the sidelines of a Banca Generali event: “What surprised me the most was my reaction after the injury: by nature I need extreme preparation and extreme work to feel ready to compete, and instead I accepted what happened and managed to react proactively, in a way that was totally unexpected for me.” An admission that tells better than any statistics the extraordinariness of what has been accomplished by the Tiger of La Salle.

On the sporting front, Brignone has already made her immediate priorities clear: her operated leg needs care and rest, and her competitive future remains yet to be defined. “I have my examinations for the leg, then I will leave with my treatment. My future at the moment is this: I have to figure out how I am,” he recently explained to Che Tempo Che Fa. In the meantime, his numbers speak for themselves: two Olympic gold medals, two overall World Cups, five specialty cups, the Italian record of 37 World Cup victories and 85 World Cup podiums, as well as five world medals including 2 golds and 3 silvers.

Not missing from the account of his season was an emotional thought for the many messages he received after his Olympic triumphs. Among them was one from Jannik Sinner: “He wrote me right after the downhill, he was already at J-medical with our physiotherapist and they watched the race together.” Even President Mattarella had warmly embraced her, whispering, “I was counting on it.” Words that, evidently, Federica Brignone continues to carry in her heart, on and off the track.
