Mission accomplished. Michigan is the new NCAA champion team. The Wolverines put the exclamation point on a historic season in the national championship final, defeating UConn by a final score of 69-63. Cadeau was named MVP after finishing the game with 19 points on the scoreboard.

“When you put together such a talented group that decides, from the very beginning, to do things this way, without ever wavering or changing their minds, it means one of the rarest things in sports today has happened. For these guys to cut the winning net, after all the sacrifices they’ve made, is really special,” the words, reported by ESPN, of Michigan coach Dusty May.

“They’re a top-notch team,” said UConn coach Dan Hurley. “They deserved without a doubt to win the national championship. They are clearly the best team in the country this year. It’s really hard to score against them near the iron. I could talk about the three-point shots we missed, and I think we missed quite a few. However, they made life really difficult for us near the iron.”

For Michigan this is its first NCAA title since back in 1989. A perfect season in which the Wolverines certified, on the field, that they have a leg up on all rivals. Applause to Cadeau, a player destined for a heavenly career. Meanwhile, he enjoys the NCAA title he won with his Michigan.
