Sofia Goggia unveils compliments from "fan" Mattarella

Sofia Goggia, who was present at the ceremony of returning the flag to the Quirinal Palace after the Milan Cortina Olympics, unveiled the small exchange she had with President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella on the sidelines of the event in Rome. The president showed that he is up-to-date on Sofia’s exploits, like a true fan.
“It is always a great pleasure to be able to speak with Mattarella. He expressed his displeasure about the super-G at the Olympics, but he also complimented me on how I redeemed myself in the World Cup,” Sofia revealed.
The Bergamo-born skier then sponsored the name of Giovanni Malagò as the next president of the FIGC. Italian soccer as it is known is in crisis after missing World Cup qualification again, and the current head of Coni according to Azzurra is the most viable option.
“He is a papable name, a very good candidate, and if he happens to be, I wish him the best. Malagò where he has gone has always done well, the medals and the numbers have always proved him right. Malagò has always represented a fairly perpetual, cross-cutting institution, he’s a person with incredible savoir-faire, with crazy skills and he’s the reason we were able to bring this Olympics home in this way,” are the words reported by Ansa.
