Reduced from the not easy victory against Francisco Comesana (7-5, 2-6, 6-3 the score, after two and a half hours of play), Flavio Cobolli faces the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 with the knowledge that he cannot underestimate Alexander Blockx, 21-year-old Belgian currently at number 91 in the ATP rankings, who in the previous round defeated former Top 10 Denis Shapovalov in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in one hour and three quarters.

The match between Cobolli and Blockx will take place at the Court des Princes at the end of the day’s matches: on the same court, in fact, Rublev vs. Bergs, Fonseca vs. Rinderknech, and Moutet vs. Ruud must conclude first. The time is therefore uncertain given the flexibility of the schedule, but the match will certainly not start before 3:30 pm. The match will also be able to be followed on TV, on channels 203 and 211 si Sky, and in streaming on Now.

Between the two tennis players there is no precedent: the Azzurro, currently number 16 in the world, has already equaled with the achievement of the second round his best result in Monte Carlo and aims to do even better while the Belgian is at his first ever Masters 1000 on clay, aiming to climb further in the world ranking.

As far as individual results are concerned, Flavio Cobolli has won three tournaments on the major circuit, most recently in Acapulco in early March beating Tiafoe in the final, while Alexander Blockx is looking for his first laurel on the major circuit after winning four tournaments at the ATP Challenger level.
