Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and more: the quarterfinals schedule at the Monte Carlo Masters 1000

With home idol Valentin Vacherot’s victory over Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-4, the schedule for the quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, all of which will be staged on Friday, April 10, starting at 11 a.m. on Court Rainier III, the center court of the Monte Carlo Country Club, was finalized on Thursday evening.
It starts at 11 a.m. with a match between Joao Fonseca, who like Vacherot is not part of the initial seed, against world No. 3 Alexander Zverev: the Brazilian comes from a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Matteo Berrettini, while the German overcame Zizou Bergs 6-2, 7-5.
Next up, it will be the turn of the last remaining Italian representative on the draw, No. 2-ranked Jannik Sinner: the Sesto Pusteria outfielder, fresh from his 6-1, 6-7(3), 6-3 success against Tomas Machac, will face Felix Auger-Aliassime, who instead got the pass after Casper Ruud withdrew 7-5, 2-2.
The next quarterfinal will then see Carlos Alcaraz, the current ATP rankings leader, on the court: after defeating a tenacious Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-1, 4-6, 6-3, the Murcian will play for a spot in the semifinals against loose cannon Alexander Bublik, who instead is back from a 6-2, 7-5 success against Jiri Lehecka.
With this challenge also closed, the program will close with host Vacherot facing Alex de Minaur: the Australian, number 6 in the world rankings, defeated one of the surprises dio this tournament, Belgian Alexander Blockx, 7-5, 7-6(4), after a not easy match that lasted one hour and three quarters.
