Juventus market: sale of two (former) starters confirmed

Juventus is working to define the strategies of the summer buying campaign: before buying, the Bianconeri managers will have to sell, above all, the elements out of the plans of coach Luciano Spalletti, who will soon extend his contract with the Old Lady.
The departure of Michele Di Gregorio is now certain: back in the league with a penalty kick saved in the match against Genoa, the Bianconeri goalkeeper, however, has not regained Spalletti’s trust, and his experience in Turin has come to an end. Several Premier League clubs are reportedly on his trail. Paid 18 million euros by Monza two summers ago, he should be sold around 12 million euros to avoid a capital loss.
In addition to Di Gregorio always in defense another cut is practically certain: that of Federico Gatti. The Juventus defender is one of the players that Juventus could sacrifice to make cash, despite his contract expiring in June 2030.
Also in the case of Gatti there are several Premier League clubs on his tracks: among them West Ham, Everton, Leeds and Newcastle, willing to reach figures close to the 25 million euros that Comolli is asking for in order to record a significant and important capital gain for the club’s coffers. The player is ready to say yes, especially if offers come in for a higher salary than the one he currently receives in Turin (around 3.1 million euros net per season). Having arrived from Frosinone in 2022 for 9 million euros, Gatti has played 132 games so far in the Bianconeri, scoring 11 goals.
For Di Gregorio’s replacement, the name at the top of Spalletti’s list is that of Alisson Becker: the Brazilian goalkeeper from Liverpool, already coached by the Tuscan coach in his Roma days, is a concrete target. Despite his renewal until 2027 with the Reds, his future in England is not fully defined, partly because of the rise of Giorgi Mamardashvili, the Georgian goalkeeper acquired by Liverpool in the summer of 2024. Initial contacts between Juventus and Alisson’s entourage have reportedly been positive, with the player intrigued by the idea of a new adventure at a high level in Europe.
The market value of the Brazilian, now 33, has meanwhile dropped significantly from the glories of a few years ago, standing at around 17 million euros according to Transfermarkt estimates. A cheaper alternative leads instead to Elia Caprile: the Cagliari goalkeeper is having a top season and is among the profiles monitored by the Bianconeri management to reinforce the department.
