Gosens punishes Lazio: salvation one step away for Fiorentina

The thirty-second day of the Serie A championship closes with Fiorentina’s 1-0 success against Lazio: it is a goal by Robin Gosens, just over halfway through the first half, that gives three fundamental points to the Viola, who are getting closer and closer to archiving the salvation discourse after the big scare of the first months of the championship. For the Viola, the fourth consecutive useful result is worth +8 on the third-last place, while the biancocelesti interrupt a series of five matches without defeat between the league and the Coppa Italia.

Lazio started better: at 3′ Zaccagni severely engaged De Gea, who was good at sending in a corner. In the resumption the script did not change, with Lazio managing the ball and Fiorentina trying on the counterattack: in 60′ Harrison again frightened the guests, with a double attempt first bricked by Provstgaard and then repelled by Motta. Four minutes later alleged contact in the purple area between Mandragora and Noslin, the referee checks for himself at the on-field review and admonishes the Lazio Dutchman for simulation.

Finale with bated breath for the hosts: Noslin at 78′ grazes the post with a header, but it’s only a part of a continuous siege that, however, never materializes until the triple whistle, which comes after seven minutes of recovery. Fiorentina wins, 1-0 the final result.
