Stronger than the difficulties: Sofia Goggia proudly claims her season

Sofia Goggia made a flattering assessment of her season during the Italian Winter Sports Federation’s Media Day held in Milan. The Azzurra won a bronze medal in downhill at the Olympics and the specialty cup in SuperG.
“It was a season full of difficulties, but in spite of that I managed to handle some difficult situations, even the day of the Olympics on February 8 in downhill. The last to start in the first group of favorites and the best and with the 15th, a particularly hot day, with the fall of Vonn. I might not have made any mistakes, but despite that I think the day was extremely positive, not only for the bronze, but for how I managed mentally to handle a situation that was becoming extremely complicated at the start.”
“However, when you end the season with an Olympic medal with a world cup, in a discipline in which I had never managed to win, you can’t talk about a disappointing season, in fact they are two beautiful trophies,” the Bergamo-born champion proudly claimed.
“Surely the expectations were high, given also the excellent level at which I had managed to express myself in training, even in the giant, however, there were many things that perhaps did not go right, despite the difficulties however of coming out winning, in a different way than in the past and in a new discipline.”
