Monza’s show of strength in the 35th Serie B matchday advance: Paolo Bianco’s team routs Ferraris by overwhelming Sampdoria 3-0 on the road. Thanks to this result, the “biancorossi” climb to 72 points, temporarily reaching Venezia in first place in the standings (but with one match less), +3 ahead of Frosinone on the pitch Saturday in Modena. The blucerchiati, on the other hand, remain stationary at 40 points, interrupting the series of three consecutive victories and remaining four lengths from the playoff zone.

Monza overwhelms Sampdoria with a rocket start: at 5′ the guests immediately unlock the game on the development of a corner, Cutrone scores on an assist by Delli Carri; at 13′ comes immediately the double on the counterattack, after a lightning fast restart by Cutrone for Caso who does not miss in front of Martinelli.

The hosts try to baste a reaction by taking the ball of the game in their hands, while Monza coach Bianco decides to substitute Lucchesi at 26′ because he was very nervous and already cautioned. The biggest danger for Thiam comes at 33′, when Brunori has a great chance but wastes it by kicking high.

In the second half, the Dorians continue to push but struggle to pierce the organized Monza defense, which on the other hand scares as soon as it appears in the Blucerchiata area: at 58′ Colpani hits the post. Thiam, however, makes a great save on Brunori at 69′ and allows the guests to maintain a quiet double advantage.

Petagna, who entered in the second half, closes the game five minutes from 90′: the Brianzoli striker scores with a cinematic volleyed goal from the edge of the Ligurian area. Monza takes the three points and the dream of direct promotion to Serie A is closer.
