Napolil, collapse at home with Lazio: Inter party at +12

The Maradona atmosphere was not enough to shake Napoli, which in the 33rd day of Serie A suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Lazio, victorious 2-0. Unlocking the match was Matteo Cancellieri in the 6th minute, then Sergej Milinković-Savić neutralized a penalty to Mattia Zaccagni in the 31st minute. In the second half, Toma Basic signed the double (57′). The misstep thus opens a window for Milan, which with a win can return to second place, as well as clearing the way to the Scudetto for Inter, now at +12.
Napoli started uphill: after just six minutes, Lazio built a perfect move and Cancellieri finalized Taylor’s assist. The Azzurri tried to react with Matteo Politano, but lacked precision and lucidity. On the half-hour comes the key episode: mistake in the exit of Alessandro Buongiorno, intervention in the box by Stanislav Lobotka on Noslin and penalty kick for Lazio. Zaccagni misses from the penalty spot (his first mistake in Serie A), with Milinković-Savić also starring on the rebound, accomplice to the slip of the biancoceleste captain.
Before halftime, the Serbian goalkeeper also denies a goal to Nuno Tavares, while Conte decides to substitute a dull Kevin De Bruyne. In the second half, under the eyes of former Azzurri symbol Marek Hamsik, Napoli continued to make too many mistakes and in the 57th minute cashed in the 2-0 with Basic, served again by Chancellors.
Alisson Santos’ attempt shattered on the post (the only real Parthenopean ringing), and the result did not change anymore. Napoli remains stuck on 66 points, slips to -12 from Inter and risks being hooked by AC Milan. Lazio, on the other hand, rises to 47 points, despite losing Manuel Lazzari in the final minutes to injury. For the biancocelesti, this is the fourth consecutive victory in the former San Paolo: the last team to beat Napoli at the Maradona was Lazio itself, on Dec. 8, 2024.
