Robert Lewandowski is still waiting to know his future, which could even lead him to land in Serie A. The formidable Polish striker is still far from certain to renew his contract with Barcelona, and a possible farewell to the Catalans would open the door wide to AC Milan and Juventus. Both in the shadow of the Madonnina and in that of the Mole they are waiting to know the developments of the situation, which according to the Iberian press should find the decisive turning point within the next few weeks.

The ever-attentive ‘Mundo Deportivo’, which has always been the media of reference for the events concerning Barcelona, says that Pini Zahavi, Lewandowski’s agent, will meet the Blaugrana management within the first days of May to define the future of his much sought-after client. The culĂ© club is reportedly intent on proposing a renewal valid for one season only, with the agreement thus set to expire on June 30, 2027. Aspect, this one, that could slow down the already uphill negotiation for the distances between the parties regarding the center forward’s salary.

Situation then propitious for Milan and Juventus, intent on proposing Lewandowski a more tantalizing challenge than those that would offer Saudi Arabia or MLS, other possible destinations for a striker who still represents a real goal machine. The real obstacle would be the will of the person concerned, who at the moment would prefer to continue wearing the Barcelona jersey. Without adequate guarantees, however, farewell could be the inevitable consequence. And Serie A is behind the door.

In the meantime, Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is expected right in Italy already in the coming days, with a meeting practically certain with Juventus executives. The Old Lady has shown a concrete and lasting interest in the Polish center forward, regardless of what will be the fate of Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract with the Bianconeri club is also in the balance. Moreover, it is not ruled out that Zahavi could take advantage of the trip to Italy to also sound out the situation at AC Milan, where sporting director Igli Tare had already contacted the player’s entourage in recent months to test the ground.

On the Rossoneri front, coach Massimiliano Allegri would find himself having to rebuild the offensive department almost from scratch, with the hypothesis of switching to a trident as opposed to the current 3-5-2. In this context, the Lewandowski idea remains suggestive, although the possibility of Barcelona offering him a further renewal complicates plans. For this reason, Milan would also be carefully considering other avenues, including Nicolas Jackson, set to return to Chelsea after his experience at Bayern Munich, and Mateo Retegui, currently in Saudi Arabia but eager to return to a competitive league.

Juventus, for its part, would not be waiting with its eyes closed. In case of a failure to lunge on Lewandowski, the Bianconeri would have already identified some alternatives for the attack: teasing the hypothesis of a return of Randal Kolo Muani, as well as that of targeting Keinan Davis, a striker currently with Udinese where he is having a great season. Before any move is made, however, Juventus will have to find an accommodation for the Openda-David duo.

Barcelona’s position had been clarified in recent months by president Joan Laporta himself, who had publicly stated, “We would like him to stay, but it will depend on what he wants. He arrived at a difficult time and has helped us a lot, and we want him to continue to do so.” Words that had been echoed by an even sharper statement, “As a sign of my gratitude I would offer him another year on his contract. He came at a very difficult time and, despite his history at Bayern Munich, he pushed hard to get to Barcelona. He gave up a lot.” An important attestation of esteem, but one that still does not seem enough to convince the Pole to extend without further guarantees. Lewandowski’s future thus remains an open rebus, with Serie A ready to insert itself at the right moment.
