Reyer Venezia: Ettore Messina suggestion that fascinates but there's more to it

Since he is no longer the coach of Olimpia Milano (last Nov. 25), Ettore Messina’s name has been increasingly talked about. There are those who see him ready for an important role in the NBA Europe project, those who believe he will continue to work for Olimpia Milano (as a trusted man of the ownership), and even those who believe he could return to coaching in Serie A.

According to La Prealpina, Ettore Messina could be the new coach of Reyer Venezia. The seasoned coach would take the place of Neven Spahija. To be fair, it seems more a suggestion than a real possible negotiation. Ettore Messina seems to have other thoughts about his future.

In addition, the real favorite to sit on the lagoon bench next year would be Luca Banchi, another coach of enormous depth. What is certain is that Reyer Venezia is aiming high for the figure of the new coach, certifying even more important ambitions.

Turning back to Ettore Messina, the feeling is that these could really be the last months of his adventure with Olimpia Milano. There are many options and definitely interesting challenges on the table. Watch out also for offers that could come from clubs that play the Euroleague or, why not, from the United States. He has already been featured in the NBA in the past, albeit as an assistant coach (LA Lakers and San Antonio Spurs).
