Cantù awaits Treviso, Sassari crosses fingers: De Raffaele outspoken on salvation race

The last game of the regular season for Acqua S. Bernardo Cantù, which accomplice the exclusion of the Trapani Shark, with whom it should have played the last day, will close its path in 2025-2026 with a week in advance, in a salvation challenge of capital importance against Nutribullet Treviso. The two points at stake are invaluable for both, and there will be interested spectators from Sassari as well, as Dinamo’s result against Virtus Bologna will determine the scenario ahead of the last forty minutes.
“We all know the importance of this game,” Cantù head coach Walter De Raffaele confirmed during the presentation. Treviso is a team that, since it has practically changed roster, has found talent, distributed between interior and exterior, and a squareness, daughter also of the results it has obtained with great merit, especially the last victory in Brescia.”
“I foresee a very physical game and the ability to contain this talent of theirs will be a key element. We will have to play with an open face, trying not to rush them to avoid highlighting their qualities even more. For our part it will be decisive to think about our own things, playing carefully and without going for particular solutions. Bortolani has done part of the training in these days, he is in a recovery phase and, if everything goes as it seems and we expect, he will be in the game.”
On the last day, scheduled for May 10, Cantù will not play while Treviso will face Reggio Emilia at home and Sassari will be on the scene in Brescia. The standings currently see the Brianzoli at 18, the Trevigiani at 16 and the Islanders at 14. There are two scenarios with a tied finish, where direct clashes would decide: with Treviso and Sassari at a share of 16, the Sardinians would be relegated, while with all three at a share of 18, Cantù would go down to A2.
