Serie A 2025-2026: Atalanta-Genoa, the likely lineups

At the New Balance Arena the spotlight is shining on this Saturday’s Serie A evening clash: Atalanta and Genoa take on each other at 8:45 p.m. in a match that puts heavy points at stake for the final rush. The hosts, after a complicated period marked by only one point collected in the last three challenges against Cagliari, Roma and Juventus, are in absolute need of regaining victory. The Nerazzurri currently occupy seventh place with 54 points and can no longer afford any missteps if they want to keep alive their hopes of qualification for the next European cups, with Como and Roma remaining in their sights.
On the other side comes a Genoa side that, with its 39 points, is sailing in relatively calm waters but, in fact, is not yet arithmetically safe. De Rossi’s Rossoblù are coming off an up-and-down performance in recent outings, but they are aiming to close salvation talks on this very night in Bergamo. A draw would allow the Grifone to officially celebrate staying in Serie A three rounds ahead, without having to worry about Cremonese’s result, thus giving themselves a serene end to the season.
Raffaele Palladino seems intent on betting on Scamacca to lead the offensive department, with Krstovic ready to take over in the running game. Another new addition from the first minute should be Zalewski: his tactical placement will depend on the choices on the outsides, being able to act both on the flank and in the three-quarter, should Bellanova start on the right with the consequent shift of Zappacosta to the opposite track. In the middle of the field, there is the return of Ederson from the first minute, while the back pack will be coordinated by Djimsiti, currently ahead in the ballot with the returning Hien.
In the Genoa camp, Daniele De Rossi has to deal with some last-minute defections: despite returning to the group during the week, Norton-Cuffy was not included in the list of summoned players for the Bergamo trip. Baldanzi, forced to forfeit by a physical problem, also remains in the pits. As for the starting eleven, the Rossoblù should present themselves with the attacking tandem composed of Colombo and Vitinha, supported by the flair of Messias in the role of offensive mid-winger. In defense, Ostigard and Vasquez will lead the three-man line in front of Bijlow.
