True Love Impact, curtain rises: sports and inclusion at'Opiquad Arena in Monza

At the Opiquad Arena in Monza, True Love Impact, a three-day event dedicated to the issues of social inclusion and youth discomfort, officially kicked off. Inaugurating the event was the mayor of Monza, Paolo Pilotto, who together with city councillor Viviana Guidetti represented the city’s institutions, cutting the ribbon in person and kicking off an initiative that combines sports and social commitment, involving institutions, schools and third sector realities.

The event, promoted by the consortium Vero Volley, is spread over three days and aims to create a concrete dialogue between young people, associations and nonprofit organizations. In addition, starting on Tuesday, May 5, more than 300 students are expected to take an active part in the scheduled meetings and activities designed to raise awareness on sensitive and current issues, thus promoting inclusion and participation.

“This is the number zero of True Love and there will be many others,” said True Volleyball President Alessandra Marzari. “It is an important day for my family and for the volleyball family. Social impact and inclusion deserve very few words and a lot of action. I think our wanting to do and give substance to what Vero Volleyball’s claim, ‘Driven by Values,’ says is the most important thing. I’m sure that this event will have a great impact on the city and the territory.”

Also speaking at the inauguration was Aldo Fumagalli, majority shareholder of Numia Vero Volley Milano: “We are in a sports arena that is the temple of sport,” he said, “here one of the strongest women’s volleyball teams plays here both from a national and international point of view. Fumagalli then traced his connection with this world: “I started the journey in volleyball 30 years ago and I think the real function we have is to invest not only to have an economic return, but also to have a first-rate social return.”

Prosecuting his speech, the executive also highlighted the sodisfactions that the sports world can give: “Bringing girls closer to sports has an incredible social return, as it is a difficult task.” Finally, he emphasized the commitment of the athletes of Vero Volleyball: “Our first team girls apply themselves in an incredible way.”
