Basketball in mourning, Umberta Pareschi died

Italian basketball says goodbye to Umberta Pareschi, former player of the women’s national basketball team, who died at the age of 77. Her passing was made known by the FIP, which published a statement on its official website.

“Umberta Pareschi, one of the most representative Italian women’s basketball players in the 1970s, has died at the age of 77.
FIP President Giovanni Petrucci, in a personal capacity and on behalf of Italian basketball, is affectionately close to the Pareschi family and shares their condolences.”

“Umberta Pareschi won a scudetto with Standa Milano in 1973 and three editions of the Italian Cup. She played 81 times (157 points) on the national team with which she won the Bronze medal at the EuroBasket Women in Cagliari in 1974.”

Pareschi played on the national team from 1969 to 1975, called up by Gianfranco Benvenuti and Settimio Pagnini.
