Virtus Bologna, surpassed Olimpia Milano in the race for Jason Burnell

The Virtus market is already in full swing despite the fact that the last regular season game still remains to be played, now irrelevant for the bianconeri, already certain of first place, before the much more important playoffs scudetto. According to a report in the Corriere di Bologna, the club has been working for some time on the construction of next season.
In particular, in the crosshairs is Jason Burnell, a class of 1997 wing starring in the last three seasons in Brescia after experiences with Cantù, Sassari and Brindisi. The bianconeri would have presented the player with a very important offer, even higher than the one made by Milan, which is also interested due to the already existing relationship with coach Poeta from the Brescia days.
Burnell would represent an ideal profile for the new Virtus thanks to his ductility: he can cover both wing roles, guarantees outside shooting to open the court and athleticism near the basket. His arrival would make it possible to fill both the eventual void left by Jallow, adding more perimeter danger, and that of Niang, Olidata’s current starting power forward.
In fact, Niang himself seems destined for American college basketball: he has already reached an agreement with Louisiana State University for a two-year contract worth about $7 million total.
