The future of Reyer Venezia’s bench after Neven Spahija’s farewell continues to hold sway, including in the Treviso Tribune. The Veneto newspaper on newsstands today mentions Sasha Djordjevic as a possible candidate. The lagoon club has reportedly already received a no from Luca Banchi, who is intent on concentrating exclusively on the role of technical commissioner of the national team.
Among the alternatives evaluated by Reyer there would also be two names well known in the environment: Francesco Tabellini, fresh from his experience in the Euroleague with Paris, and Frank Vitucci, fresh from Scafati’s promotion to the LBA. Meanwhile, Alessandro Rossi would now be close to Trento: the signing could come within a few weeks.
On the player market front, Reyer is moving with equal determination. In the Orogranata’s sights is Alvise Sarto, a Venetian class of 2000 who grew up in Benetton and Universo Treviso and is currently at Fortitudo Bologna on a two-year deal expiring in 2027. The young outfielder also shone brightly during the playoffs, such as in the away game in Brindisi where he put up 24 points with 6/9 from the arc, proving MVP of the match.
Also hovering in the background of the Venetian market is the situation of RJ Cole, an American point guard who had a top season in Laguna with averages of 16.8 points in LBA and 12.9 points with 4.4 assists in EuroCup. Reyer would like to keep him, but there would be a clause in the player’s contract that would allow him to be released to land in the Euroleague. Olimpia Milano and Zalgiris Kaunas would be on him, making his stay anything but a foregone conclusion and adding yet another variable to a summer that promises to be one of profound transformation for the Orogranata club.
