Boorish comments against Giorgio Furlani, shame on social media

In the last few hours, numerous insults have appeared on social media against AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani. Several pseudo-fans have seen fit to vent their anger over the poor performance of Massimiliano Allegri’s team by sending insults and death wishes to Furlani.

The Diavolo’s manager was also challenged very harshly on Sunday night: outside the San Siro some Rossoneri fans marched behind a banner that left little to the imagination (“Furlani vattene” read the inscription drawn on the banner), then the Curva Sud before the Milan-Atalanta whistle blew set up a very clear choreography. The Rossoneri fans arranged themselves in such a way as to form the inscription “GF OUT,” a clear reference to Giorgio Furlani’s initials.

In the second half of the season, Milan has collected just 25 points, even fewer than Sergio ConceiƧao at the same point last season, and Champions League qualification is no longer so certain. There are two places up for grabs (in addition to the two assigned to Inter and Napoli) and the Rossoneri have to fight with Juventus, Como and Roma.

The next game against Genoa is very important and the Diavolo’s sporting director, Igli Tare, has not ruled out the team’s withdrawal to prepare for the challenge with the Grifone: “The right tension has been lacking and we have to take responsibility. The fans deserve another team, maybe we will go into training camp a few days before Genoa,” he said after the 3-2 defeat against Atalanta.
