Brindisi, expert in promotions from A2 is being talked about for post-Bucchi

In Brindisi, the aftermath of Piero Bucchi has already begun, peremptory at the end of game-4 with Scaligera Verona. “We have come to the end credits,” he explained, “I am a man of my word and I said it from day one upon my return to Brindisi that if I had not achieved promotion in two years here, my job would not have continued. I tried with all my heart, with all the affection I have for the city. Unfortunately, that’s what happened, I thank the company.”
Farther away it seems Massimo Cancellieri. In Italy, a few weeks ago, the Abruzzese had seen his name approached by some media to Brindisi, should the Apulian team fail to achieve promotion to A with Bucchi, an eventuality that materialized. But Trento’s great season finale, which clinched the playoffs, beating, among others, Olimpia Milano, has turned the spotlight on the coach who has long since announced his farewell to the bianconeri: some opportunities could come from Turkey, Greece and Spain.
The name of Nicola Brienza, who in 2023 and 2025 led his teams to promotion from A2 to A: first Pistoia and then Cantù, which exonerated him last January, has begun to circulate. Brindisi is not the only one, however, to have sights on him:: in a very peculiar domino effect Brienza could land in Scafati, in case Vitucci leaves with just destination… Brianza, perhaps alongside Simone Giofrè, another old Brindisi acquaintance who with Frank has often formed a winning pair.
