Cantù, new general manager Simone Giofrè immediately gives the numbers: 000105

The press conference for the presentation of Simone Giofrè, the new general manager of Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù, was held today, Tuesday, May 19: “This morning, thinking about what to say, a number came back to my mind: 000105. It is the FIP affiliation code of Pallacanestro Cantù, the oldest of the clubs still active in Italy, and just saying it sends shivers down my spine. My goal will be to convey to those who come here, to work or play, the value and weight of this history.”

“I am proud to become part of a project that looks forward, toward a new era represented also by the future Arena. Sport is changing and, to remain competitive at high levels, it must necessarily evolve as a business as well. I would like to be an interpreter of these values and return to Pallacanestro Cantù all that this reality has taught me, along with the experience gained over the years around Italy. On our part there will be the maximum commitment, with the will to give well beyond 100% to achieve the best possible results.”

President Roberto Allievi was also present: “I am convinced that Simone will know how to fit perfectly into the structure and family of Pallacanestro Cantù. With his arrival a completely new sports project kicks off. I am sure that he will provide all his skills and will know how to give the right inputs to face the next seasons in the best way, progressively improving the level of the team. The goal is to experience already from next year a more serene championship and to build, step by step, a reality that lives up to our history, fans and sponsors.
