Official termination between Grant Basile and Pallacanestro Cantù: in a statement, the Brianza club announced the termination of the contract with the American basketball player naturalized Italian, a biancoblu player since 2024: “Acqua S.Bernardo Pallacanestro Cantù communicates that it has finalized an agreement for the consensual termination of the contract with the athlete Grant Basile.”

“The club thanks Grant for his commitment during his two years in biancoblù, with particular gratitude for his decisive contribution to the promotion to Serie A in the 2024/25 season, and wishes him the best of luck in the continuation of his career,” reads the note from the Lombard club.

It is likely that the player, now in Puerto Rico, will start again from the Italian A2, where he made a difference in the 2024-25 season, giving a great contribution in view of Cantù’s promotion: Vuelle Pesaro, to which he had already been approached in the past, could return to the charge but the hypotheses Brindisi are not to be excluded either, even more so if the Apulian club were to hire Nicola Brienza as new coach, Sassari and Verona, in case the Scaligeri do not win the playoffs.

This season Basile played 29 games with Cantù, averaging 7.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in 16.2 minutes. He is now in Puerto Rico, where he is preparing for his second experience with the Piratas de Quebradillas: last season he impressed in the playoffs with 22.3 points and 6.8 rebounds averaged in six games. He takes over from Thomas Robinson.
