Attilio Caja bids farewell to Fortitudo with a special message for the Pit

Attilio Caja spoke at the end of his last game as coach of Fortitudo Bologna, defeated again by Verona. The coach first of all acknowledged the value of the opponents: “Congratulations, they put something more on the court than we did and it is coached perfectly by Ramagli: they have excellent public, important manager, they have everything to do well.”

Then a look at his path: “For my part today I can give an account of the three years done here: I thank Tedeschi who called me here, we made a beautiful path, I am very happy with what we did.” Caja also looked back at previous seasons, amid regrets and difficulties: “Something to recriminate with Trapani, this year we were left waiting for the result of Scafati to try for direct promotion.”

There was no lack of thoughts on the environment: “We have an incredible public, Tedeschi has always put us in the best conditions, and I think of the Fossa that drags people showing what faith in the team means. I have an excellent staff…I am very demanding, but they had an incredible year.”

On the team group, he added: “No one was ever discouraged, they often played out of position, and still we came to have a chance for promotion. I wish the best for everyone: someone will go up the ladder, others will have good contracts, it has been a wonderful interlude.” Finally, the overall balance of the three-year period: “The first year among injuries and difficulties, the second starting from fourth last and making it all the way to the playoffs, and this year we know it. Incredible fans, everywhere I go no one has ever put a bad word in. We accept the verdict.”
