The Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix has left a bittersweet taste in the Ferrari household. On the one hand the smile for the podium won by Lewis Hamilton, author of a race fought until the last laps against Max Verstappen and able to finish in second place. On the other, the disappointment of Charles Leclerc, fourth at the finish line and more than twenty seconds behind his teammate. The Monegasque driver, at the end of the race, did not hide his discontent to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport’.

“It was a horrible weekend, probably the most difficult of my career in Formula 1,” said the Red’s standard bearer, in no uncertain terms. Leclerc himself, by the way, claimed that he was surprised by his boxmate’s performance: “Lewis did an incredible job, I can only congratulate him. I, on the other hand, have never found the feeling with the car, the only good thing about a weekend like this is that there is Lewis on the same car and I can see his data.”

The Monegasque’s words immediately ignited the debate among fans, who had already been divided for weeks on the real competitiveness of Ferrari. On the one hand, there are those who see Hamilton’s performance as confirmation that the SF‑26 can be a podium car, and on the other, those who fear that such a significant difference in performance between the two drivers of the Rossa may not help when they find themselves discussing the next steps to be taken at Ferrari.

On the horizon, for Leclerc, there is now the home race: “In Monaco everything will be very different, I’m not worried,” said the Ferrari driver, who among the curves of the Principality achieved success in 2024 and second place last season, behind Lando Norris, world champion at the end of the 2025 World Championship.
