There is no limit to the worst, and unfortunately in the last few hours we have had further confirmation: Cagliari players Juan Rodriguez and Gennaro Borrelli were heavily insulted and threatened on social media by some Milan pseudo-fans after scoring goals at San Siro.

The goals of the two red and blue champions prevented Massimiliano Allegri’s team from qualifying for the next Champions League, and some Rossoneri fans thought it best to take it out on them. Most of the accounts from which the offenses come, as is often the case, have fictitious names and images that cannot be traced back to real people.

Cagliari was already certain of salvation and on Sunday night showed great pride by beating AC Milan 2-1 at San Siro after going into a disadvantage after a few seconds with Alexis Saelemaekers goal.

Juan Rodriguez, class of 2005 former Peñarol, spoke this way after the triple whistle: “It’s the first goal in my career, an incredible joy. I scored here in San Siro against a strong team like Milan. I am very happy to play in Cagliari, we had a beautiful season getting to 43 points. I am also very happy because it is a goal that led the team to victory. I dedicate this goal to my family, to my girlfriend, to her family, to all the Rossoblù fans who support us.”
