NBA Europe project, Jorge Garbajosa clear on what would be the best solution

The NBA Europe project, albeit under the radar, is in full swing. The NBA wants, at all costs, to get its hands on European basketball. To do so, it has found an important ally in FIBA. Jorge Garbajosa, FIBA number one, took stock of the ambitious project.
In particular, there is talk of a possible agreement with the Euroleague, so as to have total control over European basketball, without any division:”The question is whether it is possible, and I hope so. But I think that’s everybody’s goal: because we would be contributing to the collective effort, not reducing it.We are all in favor of an agreement with the Euroleague. The question is whether it is possible, and I hope so,” the words of Jorge Garbajosa himself to Mundo Deportivo
In short, the will seems to be to find common ground with the Euroleague to move the project forward together. To be fair, a decidedly ambitious goal, given the obvious model difficulties of the two basketball realities.
The feeling is that it will take time and major waivers on the part of all parties involved to think about a “coalition.” As is well known, the NBA would like to officially kick off the new NBA Europe as early as 2027, at the latest a year later.
