Marta Bassino’s recovery continues after the serious injury she suffered last fall. The Italian skier underwent surgery at the Casa di Cura La Madonnina in Milan to remove the plate inserted on Oct. 22, when she suffered a fracture of the left tibial plateau along with injuries to the collateral ligament and meniscus of the same leg. The injury had occurred during a training session in Val Senales, just before the start of the season.

That physical problem had forced Bassino to miss both the World Cup and the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. Now, however, positive indications are arriving on her recovery path.

“I am very happy because everything is proceeding in the best way – explained the Italian -. For a few days I will still have to use crutches, then I will resume physiotherapy and gradually also athletic training. In the summer I will return to training on skis, as I did until a few weeks ago.”
