It’s done: Cremona has ceded the title to Rome, which is targeting Djordjevic

Now everything is done. Vanoli Cremona has surrendered its sports title, i.e., the FIP code, to BC Roma, the new Capitoline entity, led by the group that refers to Donnie Nelson Jr. and Rimantas Kaukenas. Vanoli’s sports title formally leaves Cremona after a rather extended period, namely more than 20 years of Serie A between promotions, salvations, play-offs and, above all, the conquest of the 2019 Coppa Italia, the highest moment in Vanoli Cremona’s history.

At this point, with Rome’s entry into the elite of Italian basketball, it will be necessary to set up a roster of important quality, precisely because the newly formed Capitoline club has so much ambition.

As for the coach question, the hot name is that of Sasha Djordjevic. Born in 1967, during his coaching career he has led big clubs such as Olimpia Milano, Panathinaikos, Virtus Bologna and Fenerbahce. Now he could make his big comeback, after a stint with the Chinese national team, in Serie A.

The newly formed Roman club is expected to have its operational headquarters in Rome. News on all fronts is expected in the coming weeks.
