Germani Brescia fought back and beat Olimpia Milano at home 85-79 in Game 2 of the Serie A basketball playoff semifinal series. The Milanese team experienced a Sunday to forget on three-point shots, with just five baskets out of twenty-four attempts, and a disputed ending for some refereeing decisions did the rest. The series returns to a tie, 1-1, appointment to Wednesday for game 3 at the Forum. A 15-point Bolmaro wasn’t enough for Milan, for Brescia it was Della Valle (28) and Ivanovic (24) who took the lion’s share.

After the game Peppe Poeta expressed himself this way, chastising his own: “Congratulations to them, we played a not very intelligent game, from the beginning we got nervous with the referees. Then we put the match back on its feet, bringing it back on our tracks, and then we got nervous again.”

The difficulties in shooting: “The shooting and free-throw percentages affected so many, while defensively we played better, conceding few assists. But they shot 42 free throws, and this is possible because we were not smart.”

About the referee issue: “We struggled to interpret this metric, and we got nervous. In addition, shooting badly did not allow us to gain confidence. Today Ivanovic hurt us a lot, he was the one who made the difference in this game.”

“The series is very clear – Poeta concluded – . If we can impose physicality, without getting nervous, we bring it to our side. If, on the other hand, we allow their basketball intelligence, to take it on the tracks we don’t want, it becomes another series.”
