It’s not just John Stones—Juventus wants another free agent

Failing to qualify for the Champions League is forcing Juventus to rethink its transfer plans: the Bianconeri want to strengthen Luciano Spalletti’s squad but will have to keep a close eye on spending to ensure they comply with UEFA’s financial restrictions.

Giovanni Carnevali is closely monitoring the free-agent market, and in recent hours a new name has emerged for the Bianconeri’s defense: Malang Sarr. The center back, born in 1999, became a free agent after leaving Lens in early July and is now looking for a new team.

Born in Nice to Senegalese parents, Sarr began his career with Nice and moved to Chelsea in 2020. The Blues loaned him to Porto, but things didn’t go very well, so the English club subsequently loaned him to Monaco. In 2024, the center back made a permanent move to Lens, where his performances improved significantly.

Juventus also has its sights set on John Stones, who is currently a free agent after parting ways with Manchester City. The English center back has received several (and very lucrative) offers from Saudi Arabia and Qatar but intends to continue his career in Europe.
