Italvolley, De Giorgi chose the 14 Azzurri for the VNL

After the three friendlies played in Cavalese, Verona and Bergamo, the men’s national team led by Ferdinando De Giorgi will return to assemble on Thursday, June 4, at the Olympic Preparation Center in Rome. Two days later, on June 6, the Azzurri will leave for Ottawa, site of the first week of the Volleyball Nations League 2026.

For the season debut in the international competition, the head coach has summoned 14 athletes:

Ballplayers: Paolo Porro, Mattia Boninfante
Midfielders: Pardo Mati, Giovanni Sanguinetti, Giovanni Gargiulo, Leandro Mosca
Setter: Francesco Sani, Mattia Bottolo, Luca Porro, Mattia Orioli
Opposites: Kamil Rychlicki, Alessandro Bovolenta
Liberi: Gabriele Laurenzano, Domenico Pace

The technical and health staff will consist of Ferdinando De Giorgi (coach), Roberto Ciamarra (assistant coach), Marco Meoni (assistant coach), Oscar Berti (athletic trainer), Piero Benelli (doctor), Francesco Alfatti (physiotherapist), Ivan Contrario (scoutman) and Giacomo Giretto (team manager).

Italy, the defending world champion and runner-up in the Volleyball Nations League after winning silver in the last edition, will make its debut in the VNL 2026 from June 10 to 14 in Ottawa, Canada. During the first week, the Azzurri will face, in order, France, Germany, Turkey and the United States.

All matches of the Volleyball Nations League will be broadcast live in Italy on DAZN and on the streaming platform VVTV.
