Matiasic tries again: the domino effect would start in Brescia and end in Cento (or Ruvo)

Germani Brescia would be ready to transfer its Serie A title to Matiasic (Roma-2): basketball expert Giuseppe Malaguti reports. The operation responds to the Capitoline club’s need to participate in a European competition, such as EuroCup or BCL, a prerequisite to apply for the NBA Europe project in the future.
Contestually, Matiasic would pass the Trieste title to Mauro Ferrari. The latter would thus retain a presence in the top league, but would transfer the new project to Brescia as part of an agreement that would also include a financial consideration.
Trieste, on the other hand, would not leave the professional scene: the club would restart from the A2 Series, taking over the sports title of either Cento or Ruvo.
In recent weeks, rumors had reported of a 6 million euro offer submitted by Matiasic to Germani Brescia, initially denied by the same patron Mauro Ferrari. Before focusing on Leonessa, the CSG group had also knocked on other doors: newly-promoted Scafati had rejected an approach deemed not congruous by patron Nello Longobardi.
The scenario fits into the broader framework of the NBA Europe project, which is the real driving force behind the entire operation. FIP president Gianni Petrucci has already confirmed that the Italian realities concretely interested are two, identifying Rome and Milan as the strategic markets in terms of catchment area and commercial potential.
