Rafa Leao returns to talk about his future and sends a clear message to Milan: his cycle in the Rossoneri now seems close to its conclusion. Just a few days after statements in which he expressed his desire to face a new experience, the Portuguese striker confirmed his desire to leave the club in the next summer window.

Interviewed by Sport TV, Leao explained that he feels ready for a new adventure: “I have won two trophies in Italy and I have been here for several years. I believe that leagues like the Premier League or La Liga can enhance my characteristics more. If an opportunity from the Premier arrived, I would be very happy.”

The Rossoneri number 10 then looked back on a complicated season, marked by physical problems and tactical difficulties: “I lived with pubalgia for four or five months and was often employed in a position that I did not feel was mine. The system of play did not enhance my qualities. I had the feeling that I could affect much more, but the context did not allow me to do so. As time went by, this situation became heavy to bear.”

Leao also recalled a market backstory dating back to 2019: before landing at AC Milan, he had been close to Inter. “The Nerazzurri were looking for me, but then Maldini’s call came and I couldn’t refuse,” he recounted.

Finally, the Portuguese dwelt on his relationship with Zlatan Ibrahimović a figure often discussed by the Rossoneri fans: “I consider him a good person. He has a strong character and those who are not mentally solid can be influenced by him. He is not one to hand out compliments or pats on the back, even in training. For me, however, he was fundamental: he helped me both on and off the field and taught me to keep my concentration high throughout the match.”
