Tour for Life, new stop in Salice Salentino with Team Calcagni
Tomorrow morning, at 6:00 a.m., a new and significant stage of the Tour for Life promoted by Team Calcagni – Mai Arrendersi will start from Salice Salentino, with destination Capurso and the Sanctuary of Madonna del Pozzo, a place of deep faith, spirituality and devotion.
The route will cover about 150 kilometers crossing numerous municipalities in Puglia, transforming a simple bicycle ride into a journey full of human, sporting and social significance.
The Tour for Life was created with the aim of spreading and promoting the values of solidarity, inclusion, legality, health, prevention, gift, respect for the person and sport as an extraordinary tool for human and social growth.
Team Calcagni – Mai Arrendersi draws inspiration from the life experience of Colonel Carlo Calcagni, athlete of the Italian National Paralympic Team, Victim of Duty, who for years has been testifying throughout Italy how it is possible to face the hardest trials of life without losing hope, dignity and confidence in the future.
The pedal ride to Capurso also represents a moment of recollection and gratitude, during which to entrust to Our Lady of the Well the sufferings, hopes and prayers of those who fight their personal battles against illness, loneliness, difficulties and injustice every day.
Team Calcagni – Mai Arrendersi extends an invitation to all cyclists, sportsmen and women, associations, volunteer groups and citizens who wish to share this message of hope: anyone can join the group along the route, even if only for a few kilometers or a short stretch of road.
It is not the distance traveled that counts, but the value of the shared journey. Each ride together will represent a concrete sign of friendship, closeness, inclusion and support toward those who face their personal challenges every day.
The journey will not end in Capurso. In the evening of tomorrow, the Team will reach Altamura, where another important stage of the Tour for Life will continue on Monday, June 8.
At the Istituto Comprensivo Don Milani – Padre Pio, Colonel Carlo Calcagni will meet with students and teachers to share his own experience of life, service to the State, sports and resilience, offering young people a concrete testimony of courage, commitment and responsibility.
Meeting with the new generations represents one of the most important goals of the Tour for Life. Talking to young people means investing in the future, transmitting authentic values and demonstrating that every obstacle can turn into an opportunity for growth, that every fragility can become a strength, and that true success consists in never ceasing to believe in one’s dreams and ideals.
