Dr. Claudio Costa, founder of the MotoGP mobile clinic, in an interview with Gpone.com reiterated all his admiration for Marc Marquez, who was immediately victorious after returning from a double shoulder and foot operation. The Catalan Ducati rider, lagging behind in the overall standings, has not given up yet and is aiming for a great comeback to win his tenth title.

“Marquez has gone through a period of suffering, sadness and adversity. A period in which he underwent four surgeries, one of which was in America at the Mayo Clinic, the removal of stitches, CT scans, MRIs, grueling daily physiotherapy. Then, he was able to find a gap from these adversities and the gap became an opening on the ninth World Championship title.” said Dr. Costa.

“The same thing happened with the planned shoulder surgery. He had a neurological problem with radial nerve involvement. He had surgery, also for a fracture in his foot, came back to Mugello, fought back and came back to win.”

“As my best friend Alessandro Zanardi would have said: you should not only see the gray in the raindrops but also the blue. So, today Marquez saw a little bit of blue and let’s hope that this blue becomes bigger and bigger. So that he can deliver to the World, not only to motorcyclists or sportsmen but to everyone, a wonderful message: that adversity can be beaten.”

“How long will it continue? I don’t make prophecies, because the most beautiful prophecy is the legacy he leaves, the teaching of his feat: the suffering that becomes innocent and becomes the forge on which an invincible rider is forged, who can beat any adversity.”
