Jannik Sinner, the'former No. 1 points out one detail to everyone: "One in a hundred does this"

Weeks have passed, but Jannik Sinner’s incredible defeat at Roland Garros continues to cause discussion. The Azure was one game away from victory in the second round of the Paris tournament against Argentina’s Juan Manuel Cerundolo, but he crashed and burned, getting a comeback. On the “Love All” podcast, former world number one in women’s tennis, Kim Clijsters, commented on Azzurro’s knockout.
“I want to emphasize the fact that he carried through with the match,” the former Belgian tennis player pointed out. “Instead of forfeiting and breaking the match, he stayed on court for the next two sets, showing the respect he has for the audience and for the sport. Believe me, 99 out of 100 players would have left after losing that set.”
“The fact that he stayed on the court shows the respect he had for his opponent, but also for the place and the situation he was in,” continued Clijsters, who went on to talk about the possible causes of the drop-off. He was in pain and it showed, but probably the anxiety factor was an additional element, he froze completely.”
To shed light on his illness, Sinner underwent a full package of cardiac and metabolic checks at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. The checks would reveal no significant physical problems: what happened in Paris would be attributable to a general state of fatigue, accrued after more than two months of intense competitive activity with little opportunity for recovery, aggravated by the extreme weather conditions experienced in the French capital during the tournament.
In the days between Paris and Milan, the world number one was not left alone: girlfriend Laila Hasanovic, the Danish model, remained by his side at all times, even following him on the mini-vacation on a boat in Sardinia spent with some friends before the clinical examinations.
