Jannik Sinner: Potential Opponents on the Path to a Second Wimbledon Title

With the release of the ATP rankings updated as of Monday, June 22, the 32 seeds for Wimbledon—the third Grand Slam of the season—have been finalized (barring any last-minute withdrawals). As the world No. 1, Jannik Sinner will be the top seed in the London draw. Based on the seeding distribution, the Italian could face Alexander Zverev only in a potential final. In the semifinals, however, his possible opponents would be Felix Auger-Aliassime or Ben Shelton, the third and fourth seeds, respectively.
In the quarterfinals, Sinner’s path could include a match against one of the seeds ranked between No. 5 and No. 8: Alex De Minaur, Taylor Fritz, Novak Djokovic, or Daniil Medvedev. In the round of 16, however, the world No. 1 could face one of Jiri Lehecka, Luciano Darderi, Jakub Mensik, or Learner Tien, seeded 13th through 16th.
As early as the third round, Sinner could face one of the players seeded 25th through 32nd: Arthur Rinderknech, Cameron Norrie, Ugo Humbert, Brandon Nakashima, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Alejandro Tabilo, Ignacio Buse, or Matteo Arnaldi. In the first two rounds, however, he will not face any seeded players.
