Last night, Colombia became the final national team to secure a spot in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup in North America. At Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, the Cafeteros defeated Ghana 1-0 thanks to a goal by Jhon Arias in the 15th minute.

The South Americans dominated the match but, after taking the lead, squandered several chances to double their advantage, and the outcome remained in doubt until the final whistle. Starting forward Córdoba was injured after just a few minutes and was replaced by Luis Suárez, who played a key role in setting up Arias’s opening goal. The Sporting striker then squandered at least three other clear scoring chances. Ghana was unable to mount a comeback in the second half and finished the match without a single shot on goal.
