Amedeo Della Valle has a new team: Varese came out on top

Pallacanestro Varese

Pallacanestro Varese has signed Amedeo Della Valle to a multi-year contract with the red-and-white club, which beat out the competition.

Born in Alba on April 11, 1993, Amedeo Della Valle grew up in a family deeply connected to basketball (his father, Carlo, was also a player), a passion that, after his youth career with Junior Casale Monferrato, he decided to pursue by moving to the United States, where he completed his development at Findlay Prep High School and Ohio State University, competing in two NCAA tournaments. In 2014, he returned to Italy and joined Reggio Emilia, quickly becoming one of the key players on the team that won the EuroChallenge, reached two consecutive league championship finals, and won the 2015 Italian Super Cup—a competition in which he was named MVP.

In 2018, he joined Olimpia Milano, where he won another Italian Super Cup and played two seasons in the EuroLeague, before gaining international experience with Gran Canaria and Buducnost Podgorica. With the Montenegrin club, he won the Montenegrin league title and the Montenegrin Cup, as well as reaching the ABA League final. Since 2021, he has played for Germani Brescia, a team where he quickly became a leader and icon. Already in his first season, he won the Serie A MVP award and was named the LBA’s Best Italian Player in 2022. With the Lombardy-based club, he then led the team to its historic victory in the 2023 Italian Cup, being named the tournament’s MVP, and subsequently assumed the role of captain of the blue-and-white squad.

In the following years, he was once again named the LBA’s Best Italian Player in 2025 and 2026, cementing his status as one of the leading figures in Italian basketball.
