His name is Giovanni Emejuru, and he’s one of the new faces on the Italian national basketball team. A center born in 2002, he really stepped up when called upon in the games against Iceland and Lithuania, part of the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers, confirming that he has significant potential and plenty of room to grow.

Fresh off a remarkable season with East Carolina, Giovanni Emejuru is aiming high. His dream is to get a chance in the NBA. In fact, that dream is within reach.

He has signed an Exhinit-10 contract with the Denver Nuggets and is expected to play in the upcoming Summer League wearing the Colorado franchise’s jersey.

At the same time, he’s proving that he can be a valuable asset to the Italian national team (a special thanks is due to former Italian national team coach Gianmarco Pozzecco, who was the first to call him up in 2023 to the experimental “Green” national team). His energy, combined with his imposing physical presence (standing 208 cm tall), makes him a player worth investing in and believing in wholeheartedly. Some believe that, should things not go well overseas, it could even present an opportunity for a club in the LBA.
