Olimpia Milano Secures Ousmane Diop

Olimpia Milano has secured one of the key players of its present and future. The red-and-white club has announced that it has reached an agreement for a multi-year contract extension with Ousmane Diop, confirming its commitment to the Senegalese big man following the progress he has shown over the past two seasons.
“I’m very happy to stay at Olimpia; that’s what I wanted from the very beginning. It’s the club where I wanted to continue playing, and I’ll do everything in my power to help write more important chapters in its history,” Diop said after the renewal was made official.
A 2.04-meter center born in Rufisque, Senegal, on February 19, 2000, Diop arrived in Milan in the summer of 2024 from Dinamo Sassari. Since then, he has carved out an increasingly important role in Olimpia’s rotation, contributing to the team’s success with consistency and solidity under the basket.
During his two years in the red-and-white jersey, he won two Italian Super Cups, the 2026 Italian Cup, and the 2026 league title. It was during the title run that he delivered some of the best performances of his career: in the playoffs, he averaged 7.5 points per game, shooting an extraordinary 81.3% from two-point range. His performance was even more impactful in the league championship finals, where he averaged 9.5 points, shot 81.2% from the field, made 80% of his free throws, and grabbed 5 rebounds per game, while also recording an average efficiency rating of over 15.
