Farewell to Osvaldo Bagnoli, the coach who led Hellas Verona to its historic league title

The soccer world is in mourning. Osvaldo Bagnoli, the legendary coach who led Hellas Verona to its historic league title in the 1984–85 season, has passed away at the age of 91.
Born in 1935, he coached numerous clubs throughout his long career. In addition to Hellas Verona (from 1981 to 1990), he also managed Como, Rimini, Fano, Cesena, Genoa, and, as his final club, Inter from 1992 to 1994.
A man of few words but genuine and deeply humble, he always spoke his mind. His masterpiece with the Gialloblù is still celebrated today, decades later. Undoubtedly, it was the greatest sporting achievement of his career.
In 2017, he was inducted into the Italian Soccer Hall of Fame. He passed away at the Borgo Roma Hospital in Verona, the city closest to his heart.
